Scholarships & Grants

Each year, AOWCGWA and the Fort Myer Thrift Shop (a 501 exempt non-profit organization) raise money through donations and consignments of clothing and household items.  Dedicated volunteers generously give of their time working numerous hours every year at the Thrift Shop to raise funds for Scholarships and Grants.

The 2013 scholarships and community grants will be awarded in celebration of the dedicated AOWCGWA/Fort Myer Thrift Shop volunteers who have worked diligently throughout the 36 years of service!

Community Grants (Welfare Grants) are awarded to organizations and/or Individuals that provide a service and/or suport the local military community.   Each request is considered on a case by case basis from the information provided to the Grants/AOWCGWA Board Committee by the requesting applicant.  Community Grants are being accepted now.

Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the eligibility requirements based on merit, community involvement, and/or leadership potential.  

Application packets and supporting documentation for scholarships need to be postmarked before March 30, 2013.
